St. John’s Wort Oil
Ingredients: St John’s Wort flowers, leaves, and stems (harvested & prepared fresh in the field, 2 days before the summer solstice and on the summer solstice), organic olive oil
Supports: when I first learned about SJW I remember thinking that she was one of the most interesting plants I’ve met yet and the more I came to know her the more I realized that this plant ally expresses just has good boundaries - only letting her internal medicine be utilized during certain windows of time. SJW blooms in summer around the solstice and one of the active ingredients, hypericin, is not present unless harvested fresh and preserved quickly. St John’s Wort supports the skin after a burn (sun or heat), though some folx who are more sun-sensitive would benefit from applying this oil at night or when you won’t be in direct sunlight as the oil can cause increased sunburn with constant sun exposure after application for some.
SJW supports superficial wounds and scrapes, and has pain relieving effects on muscles and joints. 1oz vial. Apply liberally to the body wherever aches, pains, burns, or scrapes are present.
Disclaimer: These statements are not regulated or approved by any one governing body though the herbal allies included here are well-researched. You are the exclusive authority over your own body and choices. And, if it aligns with your goals and needs, feel free to consult with a practitioner of your choosing when making selections. Each herbal support is meant to support your body in it’s healing, not cure a specific disease or illness. This wisdom is from the indigenous, folk, and formal teachers I’ve learned under. Cheers to the health of your body, mind, & spirit.
